All along they said I am mad
Hiding it behind mental disorder
How am I to know
When the source of inspiration
Of the mathematical problem
Is the same as the hallucination

Until one day
I decided to ignore
To consciously
Let go of my mind
I suffered ridicule
I suffered mockery
To become the phantom
Of the Princeton Hall

They said I am a genius
I wrote the equilibrium
And the game theory
The world put it to practice
In stock market, in negotiation
And in biology , genetic discovery
Forgetting that I had
Differential geometry in my mind

I suffered creativity
I suffered freedom
Wandered freely on the campus
Scribbling idly on empty blackboards
Staring blankly in the library
I talked to myself
I whispered alone
A figure scribbling on the wall
And searched for patterns
In the pecking of pigeons in the mall

They awarded me the Nobel
For a lesser prized work
After I was forced to leave
The pleasure of my yoke
I was hailed as a hero
Befitting a biography book
And the pages were given
A colourful celluloid look
For me to become
The Beautiful Mind

I kept a secret
That I still see those images
Of extraterrestrial beings
Communicating to me
Through the coded message
In the news paper wall
I was the biblical figure Job
A messianic Man to save the world
I see myself in the magisterial fore
In the midst of a cold war
Locating the shores

What is the beauty
That the world sees in my mind
When I am not free
To think as I like
I think mathematics
And see poetry in it
Just as I hear music
In the equilibrium core
If Bach was true
So is my mind
A place of beautiful Thinking
A Beautiful Mind
