A beautiful, very finely carved antique Chinese camphor wood chest with a superior craftsmanship all throughout. All sides of the chest has a very intricate hand carved details of flowers, trees, houses and people gathered around nature. The chest is supported by four carved feet in the form of foo dogs. It comes with a working solid brass lock. When the chest is opened the interior has a wonderful fragrance of camphor. This chest is currently used as a decorative table with a toughened glass panel on the top and equally makes a great chest to store antique materials as the camphor wood prevents insects. These boxes were earlier used for storing clothes, documents, valuables, or other possessions, and the most important piece of furniture in the home. The skills used in making such ancient furniture is lost.
